Furniture Moving Prices in Cairo & Egypt 2026 — Full Guide
The first question before any move is “what will this cost me?”. The honest answer: there is no fixed price. It depends on how much you own, your floor, whether there's a lift, and the distance. This guide gives indicative ranges, what really drives the bill, and how to compare offers instead of accepting the first number you're quoted.
Indicative moving price table
These are ranges for comparison, not a fixed tariff. Anyone quoting a final figure before seeing your furniture or asking which floor you're on will very likely revise it on moving day.
| Service | Indicative range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
These are indicative ranges for comparison only and vary by details, area and timing. Eidak doesn't set a fixed price — professionals bid and you compare.
What actually drives the cost up
- Floor and no lift — the single biggest factor. A 6th-floor move without a lift can double the cost or require a hoist.
- Dismantling and reassembly — wardrobes and kitchens need a carpenter, usually billed separately.
- Packing — dishes, screens and fragile items need proper materials; saving here gets expensive fast.
- Distance — moving between governorates costs more than within a district.
- Timing — start and end of month are peak demand, and prices rise.
- Narrow streets — if a large truck can't reach the building, expect a shuttle charge.
Six questions to ask before you agree
- Does the price include dismantling and reassembly?
- Does it include packing materials?
- Is there insurance for breakage, and what's the claims process?
- How many workers, and what size vehicle?
- If a hoist is needed, is it included or extra?
- Is this price final, or can it change on the day?
Red flags
- A price far below market — it usually gets revised once your furniture is already on the truck.
- Refusing to inspect, or even to look at photos, before quoting.
- Demanding the full amount in cash up front.
- No written agreement on what's included.
How Eidak works differently
Instead of calling providers one by one, you post the job with your budget and professionals bid on it. You compare price and rating before choosing.
Your money is held in escrow until you confirm the work is done — you don't pay up front. Minimum task value is 200 EGP, and Eidak adds 10% on top of the bid. The helper receives 100% of their bid.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does moving a two-bedroom apartment in Cairo cost?
- Roughly 2,500–5,000 EGP, varying with your floor, whether there's a lift, the distance, and whether dismantling and reassembly are included. The only reliable way to know is to get several quotes on identical details.
- What's the cheapest way to move furniture?
- Move less, avoid peak start/end-of-month dates, and pack yourself where you can. Most importantly, compare several bids on exactly the same specification — the spread between quotes is usually large.
- Do I have to pay a deposit?
- On Eidak you don't pay the professional up front. The amount is held in escrow and released after you confirm the job is complete.
- Who is liable if something breaks?
- Ask about insurance and the claims process before agreeing, and get it in writing. Photograph valuable items beforehand — it makes any claim far easier.
